Responsibilities

Tasks

• Operate commercial trucks to transport goods and materials over long and short distances.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Maintain proper load securement and follow cargo handling regulations.
• Follow all federal, provincial, and local traffic laws and transportation regulations.
• Adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and maintain accurate logbooks.
• Ensure compliance with weight restrictions, permits, and other transportation laws.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules to ensure timely transportation of goods.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff for efficient load management.
• Monitor road and weather conditions to adjust travel plans accordingly.
• Interact professionally with clients, suppliers, and dispatch personnel.
• Provide updates on delivery status and report any delays or issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and signatures upon delivery of goods.
• Perform minor repairs and report mechanical issues for timely maintenance.
• Keep records of vehicle condition, fuel consumption, and trip details.
