Family in Unionville, ON, L3R 5W1 is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 70-year-old male.

The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.

Salary: $20 per hour.

Hours: full-time, 30 hours per week.

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free.

Work Location: 31 Rembrandt Dr, Unionville, ON, L3R 5W1; Must work in employer's/client's home.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.

Job Duties:

1. Assist the elderly individual with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
2. Provide support for mobility and physical activity routines.
3. Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and bed-making.
4. Prepare and serve nutritious meals, offering assistance with eating when necessary.
5. Provide companionship through conversation and activities to alleviate loneliness and promote emotional well-being.
6. Accompany the senior to medical appointments and social outings to encourage community engagement.
7. Monitor the senior's mental health and promptly communicate significant changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
8. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment for the senior.

Requirements:

1. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
2. Prefer to have relevant experience/training in the field.
3. Able to speak, write, read and understand English.
