Overview
RONA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lumber Yard Manager to oversee operations at our Sechelt location in British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management and a passion for the lumber and building materials industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Maintain inventory levels and oversee stock management.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and assist customers with product selection.
- Monitor safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with upper management to develop strategies for sales growth and operational improvements.
- Plan Budgets and monitor revenue and expenses.
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages.
- Conduct performance reviews.
Qualifications
- Must have bachelor’s degree in business, retail, management, supply chain or equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in the lumber or construction supply sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of building materials and lumber products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
