Job Description

Precisionwerkz Canada Inc. is seeking a Cabinetmaker for Greater Vancouver area. It is a full-time, permanent position, 30-40 hours/week, $24.00-28.00/hour. Vacation 4%. Benefits after 3 months. Start date as soon as possible. 

As a Cabinetmaker, you will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
• Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on wood
• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products

Requirements:

• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must have at least 2 years of directly related work experience.
• Must have excellent organization skills.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Must be proficient with tools
• Time management is a MUST - with the ability to meet deadlines while exceeding customer expectations
• Ability to work as an individual or as a team member
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
• Willingness to discuss other opinions and ideas
• Strong work ethic and great attitude
• Must be able to provide at least one professional reference upon request.
