Job Description
Seaside Concession Group is seeking a talented and experienced Food Service Supervisor for a full-time, permanent position in Stanley Park, Vancouver. The position offers 40 hours per week at a rate of $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (depending on experience), with 4% vacation pay. Unfortunately, we do not offer benefits at this time. The start date is as soon as possible.
As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
- Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
- Prepare food order summaries for the chef according to requests from customers
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
- Help with planning menus and determining related food and labour costs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma (a university degree in hospitality or a related field is an asset)
- Proven experience in food service management or similar supervisory roles
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Experience in training staff and establishing work schedules
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced restaurant setting while maintaining professionalism
- Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership experience overseeing a team of up to 15 people or more
- Skills in menu planning, cost management, and budget development.
- Understanding of health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to provide at least one professional reference upon request
