Full Time Employment - Minimum 40 hours OR more per week
Job Title: Audio and video recording technician
Wage: $31.00/Hour to $32.50/Hour depending on experience.

Education: Minimum College OR High School Diploma
- Experience/Skills: A minimum of two years or more of experience able to operate equipment related to television broadcasts, concerts, sound recordings, and movies. Handle equipment such as video screens, video monitors, microphones, and mixing boards. Solid experience to assemble, operate and maintain the technical equipment used to record, amplify, enhance, mix, or reproduce sound. Proficient in the use of audio and visual equipment. Have knowledge of audio-visual operating systems, hardware, and software. Able to document data and observations in a variety of forms in order to preserve it for later use. Able to identify the sound requirements for a given task or situation and perform the appropriate actions to produce this sound. Troubleshoot technical issues.
Good command of the English language is a must, with the ability to speak, write, read, and listen effectively.
Job Duties:
- Set up, test, operate, assess, and repair equipment required for live events, such as music concerts, sporting events, video conferences, entertainment shows.
- Production - the recording of all sounds on set or on location.
- Post-production - the balancing, mixing, editing, and enhancing of pre-recorded audio.
- select, position, adjust and operate sound equipment, such as booms, fishing rods and microphones, used for amplification and recording.
- Prepare and operate videotape recording and playback equipment to record videos, television programs, concerts and live events, and to edit video tape after production.
- Select, position, adjust and operate sound equipment, such as booms, fishing rods and microphones, used for amplification and recording.
- Apply technical knowledge of sound recording equipment to achieve the determined artistic objectives.
- Operate electronic equipment to generate program titles, credits, sub-titles, graphic backgrounds, or animation for television programs.
- Operate dubbing machines to play back edited dialogue, music, and sound effect tracks from different sources, in synchronization with motion picture film.
- monitor audio signals to detect sound-quality deviations or malfunctions.
- Mix, edit and balance speech, effects and music and create and alter sound effects for use in films, television.
